Camp Ozark is a Christian sports and adventure summer camp in Mount Ida, Arkansas, serving kids aged 7-17. It offers over 150 activities, including sports, arts, and outdoor adventures, all set in a scenic 400-acre environment. Camp Ozark emphasizes the importance of fun, personal growth, and leadership development within a faith-centered community. It’s known for its dedicated staff and vibrant, inclusive atmosphere.
the challenge
Each summer, Camp Ozark hires 800 college students to further the mission of creating an incomparable camp experience for kids. With hundreds of competing summer camp jobs, it was a struggle for Camp Ozark to stand out in this saturated market. Paid social campaigns had never been a strategy used in the past, but what better way to increase brand awareness than targeting college students right at the tips of their fingers. Gen Z is a digital generation, and Camp Ozark maximized on this.
the solution
We researched and identified our niche target audience to curate a powerful paid advertising campaign. The goal was to recruit college students for various roles to work for Camp Ozark over the summer. We used A/B testing during the fall semester to discover content that resonated best with our target market. We then generated retargeting campaigns in the spring to reach the same people who were served our content, but did not turn into conversions.
I created school specific graphics for each college campus our staff recruiters visited with specific details, such as dates and school logos, to make the content relatable to the audience.
